Junior Controller

What You’ll Do:
  • Managing the books, cash flow and bank accounts
  • Preparing monthly financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), cash reconciliations, and other ad hoc reports
  • Setting up and managing vendors and reconciling vendor/customer account balances and resolving discrepancies
  • Overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll insurance and financial reporting
  • Focusing on streamlined systems and processes; and sustaining growth and an excellent culture
  • Coordinating corporate tax reporting and preparation of tax returns with outside tax accountants
  • Ensuring that the operating infrastructure is in place to support the achievement of financial targets and long-range plans aligned with the organization’s strategic plans
  • Complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by maintaining compliance documentation and maintaining historical records by filing documents electronically
  • Shareholder reporting
What You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with 2 years within a public accounting setting
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles and practices
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and quickly, including computation of ratios and percentages
  • Ability to prepare statistical reports, analyze financial reports and make recommendations based on analysis and research
  • Comfortable and has experience working in a startup environment (i.e., sometimes chaotic and lacking structure) and able to create structure and foundational accounting processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Prioritization and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
